Honoured USSR figure skating coach Tatiana Tarasova has been admitted to hospital to undergo a routine medical examination, according to Russian news agency RIA Novosti.
A source familiar with the situation told RIA Novosti that the 79-year-old specialist is doing well and that there is no cause for concern regarding her condition.
The admission is part of a planned health evaluation to monitor her overall wellness. Medical staff and representatives familiar with her schedule confirmed that the stay is strictly routine.
Previous health concerns
The scheduled checkup follows a serious medical episode earlier in the year. In April, Tarasova was hospitalized and placed in an intensive care unit after falling ill.
The Russian Figure Skating Federation clarified at the time that her hospitalization was caused by a severe cold. Following treatment and recovery, she was discharged from the medical facility on April 20.

Yagudin achieved historic success under Tarasova's tutelage, winning the men's singles gold medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City alongside four World Championship gold medals.
