Soboleva lost to Kawa from Poland in the first round of the Swedish Challenger

Anastasia easily won the first set, but then her opponent managed to turn the tide of the match

Ukrainian tennis player Anastasia Soboleva suffered a dramatic defeat from a representative of Poland Katarzyna Kawa in the first round of the Challenger Series tournament in Bastade (Sweden).

The match lasted 2 hours and 20 minutes. The 20-year-old Ukrainian won the first set without any problems. But in the second set, the opposite happened – having realized three breaks against one, the experienced Pole restored parity.

The third set developed extremely dramatically. Having reached the score of 5:5, the opponents were able to defend their serves only once. The ending ultimately went to Kava – 7:5 and passage to the next stage.

This defeat was Soboleva’s fourth in a row. Let us recall that Anastasia had previously been knocked out in the first round of the 2024 Wimbledon qualifying round.
