Belgian club Union’s players flew back to Brussels after their flight was rescheduled to the following day due to bad weather, Sporza reports.
On Thursday, Union drew away at Berlin’s Union in the first leg of the Europa League round of 16, 3-3. Immediately after the match, the Union players and staff went to the airport to board their plane. The flight was postponed to Friday due to snow.
The players had to spend the night on seats and luggage carousels at Berlin airport. In the afternoon, the plane carrying the players landed in Brussels. The team will play their Belgian league match against Genk on Sunday.
The return leg against Union Berlin will take place on March 16 in Brussels.
