Tensions between security staff and members of the Pirate Crew reportedly persisted throughout the entire first half of the Ligue 1 fixture, according to an experienced tribune observer present at the match.
Security officers actively prevented members of the Pirate Crew from gathering together in the stand and stopped the group's capo from standing on a seat to direct chants.
The situation crystallized further during the half-time break, escalating into the physical confrontation between guards and supporters recorded on video.
Footage of the disturbance was posted on social media by journalist Arthur Le Maout of Arthur Toulouse FM on September 19 under the hashtag #TFCHAC.
The video captured multiple security officers facing a large gathering of fans during a sudden crowd movement, forcing nearby spectators to clear the area.
The precise circumstances that triggered the altercation remain unconfirmed, and Toulouse FC declined to comment on Monday when asked to clarify the events.
Club concerns over stadium layout
The incident follows growing concerns within the club regarding the spatial footprint of the Pirate Crew, a fan group that emerged toward the end of last season.
Speaking at a press conference on September 8, Toulouse FC president Olivier Cloarec acknowledged that managing the group presented significant challenges for the club.
