A varsity football coach at Tracy High School in California has been arrested after allegedly recording students while they changed in the boys' locker room. Jeffrey Pribble, who also teaches at the school, was taken into custody on campus near San Francisco on Friday afternoon.
According to the Tracy Police Department, cited by KCRA3, students found a phone filming them while they were changing in the locker room. The students stopped the recording, deleted the footage and handed the phone over to staff, who later determined it belonged to Pribble.
Pribble is facing a misdemeanor charge related to using a concealed camera to secretly record someone who is fully or partially undressed in a private space where they could reasonably expect privacy, KCRA3 reported. He was arrested and issued a citation before being released.
Interim coach named
Pribble has been placed on leave from Tracy Unified School District. Johnnie Oh has been listed as interim head coach of the Bulldogs, who are 3-0 for the season.
In a statement, Tracy Unified School District said it is "deeply concerned about the allegations" and "remain focused on protecting the safety of our students." Pribble has been head coach of the Bulldogs since 2021.
Other coaching cases
Pribble is not the first high school football coach to face serious allegations in recent months. Travis Turner has been missing for almost a year after he fled his home in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, days before it emerged that police wanted him on 10 alleged child sex offenses.
Turner, a married father of three, had led Union High School in Virginia's Wise County to an undefeated season before he disappeared. He was last seen carrying a firearm as he headed into the Appalachian woods on November 20, 2025, and there have been no confirmed sightings of him since.
Turner remains wanted on five counts of possession of child pornography and five counts of using a computer to solicit a minor.
