Milwaukee Bucks guard Tyler Herro is locked in a legal dispute with his ex-girlfriend Katya Henry over the custody of their two children after ending their relationship.
The couple split in recent weeks after nearly seven years together. According to reports from celebrity news outlet TMZ, 26-year-old Herro initially asked a court to establish a parenting schedule and determine child support payments, but he dismissed his case several days later.
Henry, a 32-year-old model, is now demanding primary custody of the children, identifying herself as their primary caregiver. In her court filing, Henry stated she wants the children to see Herro, but requested that "safeguards and parameters should be implemented on a temporary and permanent basis in order to ensure the safety and well-being" of their two children due to his "historical conduct."
Henry noted in her filing that she "intentionally" left out specific details concerning the alleged conduct. The legal battle follows earlier public friction between the pair, including a now-deleted social media post from 2022 in which Henry appeared to accuse the basketball player of "cheating."
TMZ also reported that Herro and Henry stopped living under the same roof more than a year before the legal dispute began. Henry and the children reportedly moved out of Herro's eight-bedroom mansion in Miami in February 2025.
Custody filings and family background
The former couple shares two children together: a daughter, Zya, born in 2021, and a son, Harlem, born in 2023. Herro claims he has been paying child support since Henry gave birth to their daughter.
Herro spent the first seven seasons of his National Basketball Association career with the Miami Heat before being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks earlier this year. The guard is expected to earn a base salary of $33 million for the 2026/27 NBA season.
Henry is a fitness model and social media influencer who built an online following sharing workout routines and lifestyle content. The Miami Heat are a professional basketball team based in South Florida, while the Milwaukee Bucks compete in the NBA's Eastern Conference out of Wisconsin.
As custody proceedings continue in court, neither Herro nor Henry has publicly commented on the ongoing legal petition outside of the official court documents.
