Warner Bros Discovery has won the tender to broadcast the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup in Poland for several more seasons, meaning coverage will continue on Eurosport and the free-to-air channel TVN starting in the 2026/2027 season.
The broadcaster previously held exclusive rights to the competition from the 2021/2022 season, showing jumps on its open channel. That agreement expired when the season ended in March, but the new tender took months to resolve, partly because the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) changed leadership during the process. Alexander Ospelt became the federation's new president, beating his predecessor Johan Eliasch by a single vote.
Terms of the new deal
The exact length of the new contract has not been confirmed, and the scope of the rights acquired could turn out to be broader than before. The deal was brokered by the agency Infront, which recently centralised and secured rights to the FIS World Championships as well, a package that previously had to be bought separately. Infront typically bundles the winter sports rights it controls and sells them together, raising the possibility that Eurosport's new agreement covers more than ski jumping alone.
Under Polish broadcasting rules, competitions featuring Polish athletes must also be shown on free-to-air television. As in previous years, TVN will fulfil that requirement alongside the Eurosport coverage. Domestic competitions in Zakopane and Wisła will remain with public broadcaster TVP, under a separate agreement with the Polish Ski Association that still has four seasons left to run.
Season calendar
The winter ski jumping season is scheduled to open on 21 November 2026 in Lillehammer, Norway, and finish in Planica, Slovenia, on 21 March 2027, as it traditionally does.
A mixed season for Poland
The last season was not a strong one for Polish jumpers. Only four made the top 40 of the overall World Cup standings. The highest-placed Pole was Kacper Tomasiak, who finished 23rd. Kamil Stoch, who retired after the season, ended up 31st, with Piotr Żyła 33rd and Maciej Kot 39th.
Tomasiak gave fans reason for optimism in February, winning three medals at the Winter Olympics in Italy, two silver and one bronze. One of the silvers came in the mixed team event alongside Paweł Wąsek.
Summer season already under way
The summer ski jumping season began last weekend. The Summer Grand Prix at the Adam Małysz hill in Wisła was shown by TVP, in line with its deal covering Polish competitions, as well as by Eurosport 2, HBO Max and Player. Upcoming events in the summer circuit will be broadcast on Eurosport.
