Wehen Wiesbaden lose final pre-season test to Eintracht U21

SV Wehen Wiesbaden suffered a 0-2 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt’s reserve side in their final pre-season friendly on Saturday, one week before the start of the third-division season.

Coach Daniel Scherning’s side had beaten Bayern Munich’s C team in their previous test but could not carry that form against the Regionalliga outfit, going in level at half-time before conceding twice after the break.

Jessic Ngankam, one of three discarded Eintracht professionals in the visitors’ squad alongside Noel Futkeu and Michy Batshuayi, converted a penalty in the 57th minute to open the scoring. Metehan Yildirim added a second in stoppage time to seal the result.

Wiesbaden open their Drittliga campaign the following Saturday at home against Preussen Munster at 14:00. The match was also the last pre-season outing for Eintracht’s U21 side, who travel to KSV Hessen Kassel for their Regionalliga opener the same day.
