Reigning US Open champion Wyndham Clark was spotted using a wooden coat hanger during a practice session on the range before this week's Open Championship.
Clark, a two-time major winner, was at Royal Birkdale on Monday as he attempts to win back-to-back majors for the first time in his career. Fans on the range noticed he had brought the hanger along with his clubs.
The 'Live at the Range' team explained that Clark was doing a face angle drill, using the hanger to keep his club face more square at impact by working on his wrist positioning at the top of his backswing.
Clark told reporters that poor ball striking at last week's Genesis Scottish Open prompted the change, though only a temporary one. "You won't see me doing a bunch of that stuff the rest of the week," he said.

"My swing's gotten a little off. I kind of hit it kind of crappy [at the Scottish Open]," Clark said. "Yeah, the coat hanger is for wrist angle, trying to get a little more inflection in my left wrist so I can square the face more. That's just what it is."
Clark's "crappy" result at the Scottish Open was a tie for 13th at nine-under par. He and his swing coach chose the hanger method and plan to use it for a few shots before returning to his normal swing.
Thursday tee time
Clark is set to tee off alongside fellow American Cameron Young and Sweden's Ludvig Aberg at 3:04pm BST (10:04am ET) in the first round on Thursday.
