Real Betis Balompié came from behind to beat Villarreal CF 2-1 at La Cerámica, scoring twice in the space of four minutes before half-time to complete a turnaround in La Liga's fifth round of matches.
Villarreal took the lead in the 29th minute through Moreno and initially looked capable of causing problems for the visitors. Betis answered immediately. Cucho Hernández equalised in the 39th minute, and four minutes later, in the 43rd, Natan completed the comeback to put Manuel Pellegrini's side ahead before the break.
The score did not change in the second half, with Betis managing its lead until the final whistle and leaving La Cerámica with another significant three points.
Pellegrini, the Chilean coach who has led Betis since 2020, saw his team collect its fourth win in the last five league matches, a run that keeps the Seville club firmly among the top positions in the table. The result left Betis level on points with Real Madrid in second place.
Villarreal, by contrast, is still waiting for its first league win of the season. The latest defeat leaves the club near the bottom of the standings.
