Sayan Khertek won the first gold medal for the Russian team at the SAMBO World Championships, which are held in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan).
In the final fight in the weight category up to 58 kilograms, Khertek defeated Aidunbai Kayurberdi from Kazakhstan (5: 4)
Earlier on Friday, Russian Ekaterina Khasanova (up to 50 kg) won bronze in the repechage final, Ivan Lozhkin became third in combat sambo in the weight category up to 79 kg.
The championship in Bishkek takes place from November 11 to 13. The Russian team performs at the tournament in a neutral status under the flag and with the anthem of the International SAMBO Federation.
