British boxer Chantelle Cameron will face American opponent Mikaela Mayer in a super welterweight world title unification bout at the bp pulse LIVE arena in Birmingham on Saturday, August 29.
The 10-round contest headlines the MVPW-06 event, billed as UK vs USA, with all three major world titles in the 154-pound weight division on the line. Cameron enters the ring as the WBO world champion, while Mayer holds both the WBA and WBC super welterweight crowns.
Cameron, who holds a professional record of 22 victories and one defeat with eight knockouts, expressed full confidence ahead of the fight. Cameron said it would take someone special to beat her and stated that Mayer is not that person.
The British champion enters the showdown following a unanimous decision victory over Michaela Kotaskova in April. That result built on Cameron's milestone win in May 2023, when she handed Irish star Katie Taylor the sole defeat of her professional boxing career.
Mayer brings a record of 22 wins and two defeats with five knockouts into the unification clash. The American fighter last competed in October 2025, defeating Mary Spencer via unanimous decision following back-to-back victories over Sandy Ryan.
World title co-feature
The event at Birmingham's bp pulse LIVE arena, a major indoor sporting venue in the West Midlands, features a second world championship bout in the chief support slot. Unified WBC and WBO lightweight world champion Caroline Dubois will defend her titles against former US Olympian Amelia Moore in the 135-pound division.
Former three-weight world champion Terri Harper also returns to action on the card, competing at super-welterweight against Miranda Reyes. Promoters noted that featuring two world title fights on the same bill makes MVPW-06 the most significant women's boxing card held in Birmingham in recent history.
The main card will be broadcast live across the United Kingdom on Sky Sports, the subscription sports network, beginning at 7pm UK time. In addition to the top two title fights and Harper's return, the main card features a matchup between Reina Tellez and Jessica Barry, as well as a bout pitting Tysie Gallagher against Brandi Robinson. The fighters took part in a ceremonial weigh-in streamed live on Friday, August 28.

Boxing coverage on Saturday starts earlier with a preliminary card streamed live from around 5pm UK time. Viewers can watch the undercard matches free of a contract via the Sky Sports website, the Sky Sports app, and the Sky Sports channel on YouTube.
The preliminary schedule contains four fights: former world champion Shannon Courtenay faces Ebonie Cotton, Neeraj Goyat takes on Yessin Koulali, Gemma Richardson meets Kirstie Bavington, and Scott Melvin battles Dylan Cheema.
