Chinese boxer rules out fight with Oleksandr Usyk due to Ukrainian’s rematch with Tyson Fury
Chinese heavyweight Zhang Zhilei (27-2-1, 22 KO) said he plans to fight next Joseph Parker, Anthony Joshua or Agit Kabayel.
“With Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk rematching in December, they are out of the question, but I still have a lot of options. For example, a rematch against Joseph Parker, since I have an agreement with him on the terms of the contract. Anthony Joshua could also be considered, as well as Agit Kabayel. I have many options for opponents, and I agree with any of them.”
In his last fight, Zhilei defeated former world champion Deontay Wilder. The Chinese sent the American to the canvas in the fifth round, after which the referee recorded a technical knockout.
Zhilei previously lost to Joseph Parker in March 2024. Both boxers agreed in advance about a potential rematch, and are ready to fulfill the terms of the contract.
