Boca Juniors attacking midfielder Carlos Palacios is under investigation over his possible involvement in a drug trafficking case in Chile. Chilean police seized a car registered in the player's name during an operation that uncovered a large quantity of cocaine.
At the time of the police approach, the vehicle was being driven by his father-in-law, Sebastián Soto Guerra. According to Chilean media, Soto Guerra is identified as a member of the leadership of the criminal organization Los Pájaros de La Legua, which operates in the Santiago region.
Police investigation and player career
There is currently no information indicating that Palacios was inside the vehicle during the operation, or that he has been arrested. The investigation aims to clarify the player's potential relationship with the case.
Palacios played in Brazilian football between 2021 and 2022, making 34 appearances for Internacional before transferring to Vasco. After failing to establish himself in Brazil, he returned to Chilean football to play for Colo-Colo.
