Cracovia Draw 0-0 At Śląsk Wrocław In Ekstraklasa Clash

Cracovia were held to a 0-0 draw away at Śląsk Wrocław in the Ekstraklasa, extending their winless run in the league to almost half a year. The Kraków club's last league win came on March 21, a 2-1 victory over GKS Katowice.

Cracovia started brightly. Within 30 seconds Hasić forced a save from Śląsk goalkeeper Karol Niemczycki, and in the 18th minute Hasić set up Minczew for a one-on-one chance that Niemczycki also saved by rushing off his line.

Chances at both ends

Śląsk Wrocław also threatened. Piotr Samiec-Talar was through on goal but Traore caught up with him and knocked the ball away, while Kameri hit the crossbar just before halftime. The first half ended 0-0.

After the break, Niemczycki saved another effort from Kameri, and in the 58th minute Banaszak's shot missed the target, with Śląsk only winning a corner from the move.

Red card after VAR review

In the 79th minute, Lamine Ba made a hard sliding tackle on a Cracovia player. Referee Frankowski initially did not even award a foul, but the video assistant referee intervened. After a review, Ba was sent off, leaving Śląsk to finish the match with 10 men.

Despite playing a man up, Cracovia could not find a way past Niemczycki. In the final minute, Hasić came closest with a long-range effort that the Śląsk goalkeeper tipped over the crossbar. The match finished 0-0, a result that left the hosts more satisfied.
