Television commentator Dmitry Guberniev spoke about his work at the Karusel casino in 1995 in comments published by Championat.

Guberniev detailed how staff took fallen gambling chips during shifts at the venue. He said that if a chip dropped, a worker would sweep it under themselves with a foot. He added that a person could drop a pen and pick up a 100-ruble chip along with it, before taking the chip to exchange it with women working at the bar.
Threats from deputies
Guberniev stated that he faced repeated threats during his employment at the casino. He noted that some parliamentary deputies literally promised to kill him, but years later invited him to parliament to discuss sports issues.
The commentator previously spoke about his involvement in criminal showdowns during the 1990s. Guberniev stated that three such episodes had occurred in his life.
