US President Donald Trump announced he won the senior and super senior categories at the Bedminster Club Championship at his golf course in New Jersey. Trump, 80, claimed to have posted a two-under 70 to win both titles. The victory marks his 43rd club championship across his collection of golf courses.
According to the club's PGA Championship page, the US President won both titles previously in 2023. He also recorded a sole Senior Championship victory at the course in 2024.
"I won with a score of 70, and am so honoured in that, unlike the rest of the field, I'm given very little time to practise, because I'm focused on many other things," Trump said in a Truth Social post. "It's called TALENT, and I have it, and they don't!"
Trump also responded to claims that he could have helped overturn a controversial two-shot penalty given to Bryson DeChambeau at The Open. Trump said he sees his role more as a judge than a fixer.
Golf Cheating Allegations
American sports writer Rick Reilly suggested in his book, titled Commander in Cheat, that Trump has been known to cheat at golf. "At Winged Foot, where Trump is a member, the caddies got so used to seeing him kick his ball back onto the fairway they came up with a nickname for him: Pele," Reilly said in his book.
Trump has denied any allegations of cheating at golf.
