Olympiacos have traveled to the Netherlands with one goal: qualifying for the next round of the Champions League against NEC Nijmegen in the third qualifying round. Striker Ayoub El Kaabi said this at the team's press conference, adding that the squad wants to bring joy to its fans.
El Kaabi said he was thinking about scoring and that the team had come for the win, adding that Olympiacos would go to extra time or penalties if needed. He said Champions League matches are difficult and that following the coach's instructions was a big responsibility toward the players themselves, the fans and the team.
Expecting a similar match
Asked whether the return leg would resemble the first, since both teams rarely keep clean sheets, El Kaabi said he expected it to be similar, noting that the opponent plays quality football with short passes and pace. He said Olympiacos have their own quality and weapons and would use them to score first and secure qualification.
On NEC Nijmegen's stadium, El Kaabi called it a small ground but said that did not matter, since the team would focus only on its own game.
