Antoine Griezmann whose rights belong to “Barcelona” can become a player “Atletico” permanently, according to Mundo Deportivo.
According to the publication, the people of Madrid intend before the start of the World Cup in Qatar to agree on the acquisition of the Frenchman for 20 million euros.
Earlier outlets reported that Griezmann’s loan deal contains a clause on a mandatory payment of €40m if the Frenchman starts at least 50% of the matches. The Atlético coaching staff, in turn, releases a substitute player after 60 minutes in most matches to avoid this.
Griezmann, 31, has made nine appearances for Atlético in all competitions this season, scoring three goals and providing one assist.
The World Cup will take place in Qatar from November 20 to December 18.
