The country’s authorities did not want to make exceptions for football players who left the country during the war.

The central government does not want to make exceptions for football players to leave the country, so the next UPL season will be held in Ukraine. This was reported by the Ukrainian media.

The said directive was personally issued by the head of state Volodymyr Zelensky. It is also said that this decision is supported by the majority of UPL clubs.

Now the league leadership will make a plan for the 2022/23 season competitions. It will be developed in conjunction with the Ministry of Defense. The military must answer the question – where to play safely. There are two options: Kyiv – because the city is best protected from missile attacks, or in the west of the country.

In addition, they will create a clear algorithm in the case of actions during an air raid. Most likely, in this case, the match will be delayed, and the teams will wait in the locker room. If the alarm drags, they will end the game conditionally the next day.

Initially, it was decided that the championship would start at the end of July or the beginning of August. All championship matches will be played without spectators on the stands.
