According to Andrey, the UNITED24 team has already begun preparations for the next charity match
Legendary ex-football player of Dynamo and Milan, former head coach of the Ukrainian national team Andrey Shevchenko commented on his appointment to the position on his Instagram account freelance advisor to the President of Ukraine.
“President Vladimir Zelensky appointed me as his freelance adviser on sports issues. Given my experience, I see myself useful in the process of negotiations on the organization of international sporting events with the participation of Ukraine and the creation of new events to support Ukraine. The position of freelance advisor is a continuation of the activities that I have been conducting for a year and a half as an ambassador of the UNITED24 fundraising platform.”
“Together with the UNITED24 team, we raised millions of dollars to help Ukraine, carried out a number of charity events; among which Game4Ukraine is a big football match at the Stamford Bridge stadium in London, where world football stars took part. Most importantly, we attracted a lot of attention to Ukraine, which we really need today. Preparations have now begun for the second charity football match.”
“During a full-scale war, we must use every opportunity and resource to convey our powerful message and make our country’s voice heard on the world stage. Sport is a great force that unites billions of people from all over the world.”
“We must do everything to encourage people to support Ukraine, and I, as before, will do everything for this,” Shevchenko emphasized.
Let us remind you that on September 26 it became known that the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky appointed Andrey Shevchenko as a freelance adviser. The corresponding decree was published on the website of the Office of the President.
Previously, Shevchenko became an ambassador of the UNITED24 platform, created on the initiative of the President of Ukraine. The project raises funds to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine, civilians, as well as to restore Ukraine from the consequences of Russian military aggression.
Early in the morning of February 24, 2022, Russia fired rockets and aerial bombardment of most Ukrainian cities, and then launched a full-scale military invasion. The Russian war against Ukraine has continued for the 582nd day.
