Journalist Luís Roberto will return to TV Globo broadcasts this week, calling the match between Cruzeiro and Flamengo on Wednesday, August 12, in the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores da América. The match will be played at Estádio do Mineirão.
Luís Roberto had been away from work for about four months while undergoing treatment for a neoplasm in the cervical region. He announced the end of his treatment for head and neck cancer two weeks ago in a video posted on social media.

Fellow broadcasters celebrated his return. Commentator Lédio Carmona, also of Grupo Globo, sent a message of support, saying Luís Roberto deserved only good things and telling him to go get it.
Broadcaster Jorge Iggor of GE TV called it the best news of the year. Everaldo Marques posted support on Instagram, cheering him on. Colleague Leandro Chaves joked using one of Luís Roberto's catchphrases, while journalist Luiz Carlos Júnior called it wonderful news.
Broadcaster Paulo Andrade, commentator Denílson and broadcaster Renata Silveira also reacted to the return, along with figures from other networks, including ESPN reporter Lily Nascimento.
