Andreas Pereira refuses Belgium and targets the Brazilian team: “My dream is…”

“They (Belgian Federation) came to me at the beginning of the season and asked if I was willing to be called up by Belgium, they spoke to my agent too, and I always made it clear that my dream is Brazil. My dream is to defend the Brazilian team, nothing has changed and it won’t change”, said the player in an interview with ‘GE’.

Even with few opportunities in Brazilian Team So far, Andreas understands that the best decision he could make was this and now his focus is on working to achieve an old goal. “He told me to think about it, see how it goes, but leave a childhood dream aside just to play for a national team and not feel good.”he stated.

Andreas, who is 28 years old, was born in Duffel, Belgium, where his parents raised their family. In fact, in the youth categories, the midfielder defended the European team several times, but he always made it clear that his roots come from Brazil. “I’m Brazilian, my family is Brazilian, and playing for a national team just to say that I played for the national team doesn’t make any sense.”“, said.
