After more than 10 months recovering from injury, Paulinho returns to the pitch, but avoids talking about his future
Back on the pitch after 10 months recovering from injury, the midfielder Corinthians, Paulinho was asked about the uncertainties of his future. The player’s contract with the club is only valid until the end of June, but the number 18 avoided going into the subject and assured that he only focuses on doing his best.
“Contract runs until June, I made it clear to management and my representative to resolve it. What I said is that while I’m here I will fight until the last day, see that I am useful to the institution”, Paulinho told “ESPN”, as he left the field after the game.

Furthermore, his positioning on the field was also a topic in the quick conversation with the newspaper, since before the injury, Paulinho had been placed as the first midfielder. Despite it being a new position in his career, he performed well and had won the starting spot with Vanderlei Luxemburgo.
“We know the responsibility of being the most experienced to protect the youngest. I will leave it in their hands, but do my job in the best way possible, with professionalism”, added the 35-year-old midfielder.
In a collective, the technician Antonio Oliveira also spoke about the athlete, praised his attitude and reiterated his importance for the main achievements in the club’s recent history. Even so, he did not talk about a possible request to the board to renew the steering wheel after the end of the current contract.
