Captain of Metalist 1925 – about the match with Dnepr-1
Midfielder Metalist 1925 Artem Gabelok commented draw match with Dnepr-1 within 24th round of the Ukrainian Premier League.
—Are you satisfied with the draw?
— Considering how the match turned out, a draw is a good result for us. We are glad. Gradually our composition has stabilized, and the guys are getting used to each other. I think that our team looks like we can see progress in our actions. We include the match with Dnepr-1 as an asset. It’s clear that we need to win to stay in the Premier League.
— However, the first half was difficult for the Kharkov team. So?
— We missed an early goal from Gutsulyak. I saw that we somehow scored a goal easily. It’s good that we didn’t give up. In the second half we played more aggressively. Although, they could have missed it.
— Maxim Imerekov is your best header?
– Yes. Maxim is strong in standard positions. This is his trump card. We have a lot built on getting serves to go to him, because Imerekov plays very well on the second floor.
— In the spring, this is the third draw for Metalist 1925. Is this the most important ball in the spring part of the championship?
-We lost a lot of points in the spring, where we shouldn’t have lost. Let us at least remember our game with Minaj. Then today’s draw would have been accepted with a different attitude. One point does not move us up in the table.
— Did the club’s managers go into the locker room after the end of the meeting?
– We came in. Nobody has their head in the clouds. Everyone is waiting for victories.
— You have a six-point game with Obolon ahead…
– This will be a much more important match for us than the meeting with Dnepr-1. I saw Obolon’s matches, they are a very good team that plays aggressively. Apparently, the Brewers have a good microclimate in the team – they fight for each other. So, a more difficult match awaits us.
