Nazariy Fedorivsky: We’ll do an MRI on Tuesday, while the anterior thigh muscle hurts

Obolon goalkeeper – about the match with Zarya

Goalkeeper of Kyiv Obolon Nazariy Fedorivsky kept a clean sheet in the match with Zorya in the 26th round UPL. As it turned out, in the game against Lugansk, the Pivovarov goalkeeper was injured.

— Nazariy, how would you characterize the match against Zarya?

— Almost every Obolon match is similar to the previous one. And we have good chances to score goals, and the opponent also has them. Unfortunately, we were unable to realize our chances. Thank God, we withstood the onslaught of Zarya and did not concede an own goal. I think that the Lugansk club is of a high level. Zarya has many high-quality football players. We knew that our opponent launched counterattacks very quickly and also played skillfully on the flanks. It seems to me that we were able to neutralize Zarya’s dangerous players on the flanks. I consider the final draw to be logical. Although, the score 2:2 would be more logical.

— How did your defense manage to cope with Guerrero?

“He shot at my goal twice. Of course, we carefully studied his game. We exchanged our central defender Karas for Guerrero. Daniil Karas and Valery Dubko dealt with the Panamanian striker Zorya.

— Did you keep a clean sheet for the first time in the UPL this spring?

– Yes. Any goalkeeper wants to keep his goal dry. But not only does the goalkeeper like to keep a clean sheet, it also adds confidence to the whole team. I was unlucky – at the end of the game I was injured, and all the substitutions had already been made.

– What happened at that moment?

— The field was quite dry, and when taking the ball away from our goal, my boot hit the turf. I immediately felt pain. Now the anterior thigh muscle hurts.

— What do your doctors say?

“We’ll do an MRI on Tuesday, and then we’ll have more information.” In the meantime, I applied ice.

— Nazariy, a week ago Obolon also drew with Metalist 1925 at this stadium. In which of these matches did your team look stronger?

— It was difficult everywhere, the standings put pressure on us. We need a positive result. We want to at least be in transition matches.

Obolon ranks 13th in the UPL. In the next round, the Brewers will play against LNZ on May 4.
