Andrey will play for the Ukrainian national team against Moldova
Goalkeeper Ukrainian national team Andrey Lunin spoke about the team’s preparation for a friendly match with Moldova and upcoming European Championship 2024.
“Competition helps you grow, develop, and become better. The club season has already passed, we did everything we could. Therefore, the choice is up to the head coach.”
“I think that all the pre-match excitement will begin closer to the first game at the Euros. In the meantime, we have tomorrow’s match, we should prepare well for it. You need to show a good game and get a positive result, because preparing for official matches is always easier and better with a good mood after a victory. So there’s a friendly game ahead, and then we’ll have a few days left to prepare.”
Head coach of the Ukrainian national team Sergei Rebrov said that Lunin will be in the starting lineup for the match against Moldova. Let us remind you that Anatoly Trubin played in the sparring with Germany (0:0), and Georgy Buschan received playing time in the match against Poland (1:3).
The sparring between Ukraine and Moldova will take place in Chisinau on June 11. Starts at 19:00.
On June 12, the Ukrainian team will move to Wiesbaden, its base city during the continental championship. At the group stage of the 2024 European Championship, the blue-yellows will play against the national teams of Romania (June 17), Slovakia (June 21) and Belgium (June 26). The matches will take place in Munich, Dusseldorf and Stuttgart, respectively.
