Metalist 1925 goalkeeper Sidorenko ends his playing career

The 35-year-old goalkeeper has played for Kharkiv since 2018

Metalist 1925 announced the departure of the goalkeeper Denis Sidorenkowho decided to end his playing career.

The 35-year-old goalkeeper received a coaching license and decided to move to coaching work at the Kiev Olympic College named after Ivan Poddubny.

Sidorenko has been playing for Metalist 1925 since July 2018, having played 85 matches for the team during this time. This is the third highest figure in the history of the Kharkiv club.

In the last UPL draw, Sidorenko played four matches, mainly playing the role of backup to the team’s main goalkeeper, Oleg Mozil.

Following the 2023/24 season, Metalist 1925 was relegated from the UPL, taking the last place in the standings. During the entire second round, under the leadership of Viktor Skripnik, who joined the team at the end of December, the Kharkiv team scored eight points and won only one victory in 13 matches.

Metalist 1925 was assigned to Group B of the First League. The base day of the 1st round of the First League is July 25, 2024.
