Three Russian TV channels will pay $13 million each
FIFA sold the rights to broadcast the matches of the 2022 World Cup three Russian TV channels.
TV channels VGTRK, Perviy and Match TV each paid $13 million for the deal. It is known that FIFA has already received 75% of the contract value.
Earlier, FIFA and UEFA did not allow all Russian teams and clubs to participate in competitions under the auspices of organizations. The reason is the full-scale invasion of Russian troops into the territory of Ukraine, which has been going on for the 188th day.
Russia played its last match on November 14, 2021, losing to Croatia (0:1) in the 2022 World Cup qualifying group round match.
The 2022 World Cup in Qatar starts on November 20. The final match will take place on December 18.
In qualifying for the World Cup, the Ukrainian national team reached the finals of the playoffs of the European selection, where they lost the minimum to the Wales team (0:1).
