The success of the Netflix documentary series Drive to Survive Formula 1 is chasing the streaming giant’s competitors. In early June, Apple Studios bought the rights to a Formula 1 movie starring Brad Pitt, with Lewis Hamilton as one of the producers.
As revealed in the authoritative edition of The Hollywood Reporter, another racing project is at an early stage of development in Hollywood. Filmmakers Temple Hill and Lionsgate TV are looking for a screenwriter for a series about the world of Formula 1 to be released on the Disney-owned streaming service Hulu.
Other details of the project, as well as the timing of the release of the screens are being kept secret, but the authors have already enlisted Daniel Riccardo’s support. The McLaren driver will act as executive producer of the new project. Daniel himself has not yet commented on this news, but in the days of the British Grand Prix he will clearly have questions about the new role of film producer.
