Before the start of the race weekend in Baku, Ferrari boss Frederic Vasseur said the team would try to repeat its success at Monza and fight for victory at the city circuit.
Frédéric Vasseur: “The city circuit in Baku has very fast and extremely twisty sections that present unique challenges for us. We have had some success at this circuit in the past and it is one of Charles Leclerc’s favourites. The team is on the rise after the win in Monza and we want to continue this form.
Once again, a very tight fight is expected between the top four teams. I often say that we are focused on our own tasks, and it is clear that this is the right approach, as we have already seen a dramatic change in the balance of power compared to the beginning of the season.
The win in Italy also confirms my point that the way the team manages the whole weekend from Friday to Sunday is just as important as the speed of the car, so together with Charles and Carlos Sainz we will aim to do well in Baku. We will try to give the team another very good result.”
