Williams failed to achieve efficient tire operation in hot weather, the team drivers closed qualifying protocol…
Alex Albon (18th): “Saturday was a bit confusing and disappointing. During qualifying the car was missing something, we tried to make it work more efficiently, just like in practice.
This year we have already seen that tires are incredibly sensitive to conditions, and in warm conditions it proved even more difficult to get the right grip. In the evening we will analyze everything to be in better shape tomorrow.”
Nicholas Latific (19th): “The results clearly didn’t live up to our expectations, but compared to the first practice I’m happy with how everything went today.
Over the course of the whole weekend we were seriously lagging behind the rivals, I couldn’t get a feel for the car, but in the search for settings we were moving in the right direction. I think I could have gone faster, but given the difference between our cars and what’s new about Alex’s car, I can be happy.”
