Argentine midfielder Franco Mastantuono will play for Fiorentina on loan from Real Madrid for the upcoming season, both clubs announced on Friday, August 7.

The player arrived in Florence on Thursday, where representatives of his new team welcomed him. He passed his required medical examinations on Friday morning before signing the contract that completed the agreement.
Real Madrid stated in a brief announcement that the Spanish club agreed with Fiorentina for the loan of Mastantuono until the end of next season, ending June 30, 2027. Fiorentina announced the acquisition of the young player through a video featuring Mastantuono in a main role.
Transfer options and contract details
Mastantuono and Real Madrid had agreed in previous days to solve his situation through a loan move. The Argentine midfielder looked favorably on a potential return to River Plate on loan. However, Real Madrid did not consider that option and preferred offers from European clubs so the player could continue developing at the highest level and gain experience in a competitive league.
The agreement with Fiorentina does not include a purchase option. Mastantuono will return to Madrid in June 2027 to re-enter Real Madrid's plans after spending a season in Italian football to showcase his talent.
