Pittsburgh’s Russian striker Yevgeny Malkin confirmed that he would participate in a charity match between Russian star teams from the NHL and KHL.
The match will take place on July 20 in Moscow on the ice of the CSKA Arena. The game will start at 15:00 Moscow time.
— When Misha Sergachev invited me to take part in a charity match in Moscow, I immediately agreed. I have participated in such matches in Russia and North America more than once, and I am always happy to help those who need our support.
“In my opinion, this will be the first game of its kind where so many strong hockey players from two leagues, winners of the Stanley Cup and the Gagarin Cup, will gather on the ice at the same time. I hope that this game will become traditional and that every summer we will play hockey at home and give people a big celebration of goodness,” Malkin was quoted as saying by the press service of the event.
Most of the profits from the match will be donated to charitable foundations organized by hockey players and event partners.
