Athletistic / Hockey. The Calgary Flames have made qualifying offers to two Russian defensemen, Yan Kuznetsov and Nikita Okhotyuk, Ogonki’s press service reported.
Okhotyuk managed to play for the San Jose Sharks and Calgary last season. The 23-year-old Russian played 43 games with the Sharks in the NHL regular season and scored 8 points (1+7) and also had an assist in nine games with the Lights. Note that on May 22, CSKA exchanged the rights of Okhotyuk to Torpedo.
Yan Kuznetsov made his NHL debut in the 2023/2024 season, playing one game with the Ottawa Senators (6:3). A 22-year-old Russian, 16, left for North America. He was selected by Calgary in the 2nd round, 50th overall, at the 2020 NHL Draft.
