Cuba crushed Venezuela 6-0 on Saturday to advance to the women’s field hockey gold medal match at the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo 2026.
The Cubans will face Mexico in the final, scheduled for Monday at 2:45 p.m.

Cuba scored one goal in the first and fourth quarters and two goals in each of the remaining quarters. Cheila Darias and Yuraima Vera led the scoring with two goals each, while Yulitza Martinez and Yolaini Tamayo added one apiece.
Cuba has been the tournament’s dominant team, going unbeaten through the group stage. Including the semifinal, the squad holds a goal difference of 28 and has conceded only once in the entire competition, a 7-1 win over Barbados.
