Alexander Isak scored twice in the opening minutes as Liverpool beat Ipswich Town 2-0 at Portman Road, securing the club's first Premier League win of the season.
The Sweden international put Liverpool ahead in the seventh minute with a powerful shot from inside the box after being picked out by Cody Gakpo. Two minutes later, the Dutch winger found Isak again, this time with a pass played with the outside of his boot, and the striker finished the move cleanly to make it 2-0.
Isak's move from Newcastle United to Liverpool was one of the most talked-about deals of the summer transfer window, following weeks of speculation over his future at St James' Park. He has quickly become a key figure in Liverpool's attack.
Debuts and team news
Bradley Barcola, a France international winger, made his debut for the visitors. Greek full-back Kostas Tsimikas remained an unused substitute on the bench.
The Premier League is England's top-flight competition, contested by 20 clubs across a 38-game season, and Saturday's match formed part of the division's third round of fixtures.
Ipswich search for a way back
Ipswich tried to respond, but goalkeeper Serpen kept the deficit at two goals, saving twice from Dominik Szoboszlai, in the 20th and 23rd minutes.
Davis headed wide for the home side in the 30th minute, and Alexis Mac Allister's shot a minute later suffered the same fate. Szoboszlai and Florian Wirtz both tested Serpen again, in the 40th and 42nd minutes, but the Ipswich goalkeeper was equal to both efforts.
A quiet second half
The newly promoted side searched for a way back into the game after the break, but their main threat came from long-range attempts, through Fatawu in the 56th minute, Enciso in the 60th minute and again in stoppage time, and Clarke in the 86th minute. Liverpool, meanwhile, kept their opponents away from goal with relative ease for the remainder of the match.
The 2-0 scoreline held to the final whistle, leaving Ipswich on three points and lifting Liverpool to five.

Liverpool and Ipswich have now both played three league matches, one more than most of the rest of the division, whose table was compiled after two games each. Manchester City and Arsenal led the way on six points, level with Hull City and Chelsea.

Everton against Manchester United and Arsenal against Chelsea were scheduled for 6 September.
