Olympiacos is refusing to lower its asking price for Thomas Walkup, demanding 3 million euros to let the guard leave the club.
The most recent significant developments in the Walkup case date back to mid-July, when Dubai Basketball, which is interested in signing him, made two consecutive offers to Olympiacos for his release. Neither offer exceeded 1 million euros.
Both offers rejected
Both proposals were turned down. Walkup is under contract with Olympiacos until the summer of 2027, and the European champions consider him one of the most important pieces in their planning for the new season.
He has been a key component of coach Georgios Bartzokas's system and made a major contribution to the team's titles and honors over the last five years.
Price set at 3 million euros
With that in mind, the Piraeus club's management rejected the offers from Dubai Basketball and set the price for his release at 3 million euros. According to information from Gazzetta, Olympiacos does not actually want to let the player go.
Should Dubai Basketball or any other interested club persist, the starting price for any discussion will not drop below 3 million euros. Olympiacos will not budge on the matter, according to the report.
