Olympiacos issues fan instructions for Rennes away match

Olympiacos has issued travel and safety instructions for supporters travelling to France for their UEFA Europa League match against Stade Rennais.

The Greek team will have the backing of travelling fans in France, but in smaller numbers than originally expected. Early estimates suggested Olympiacos would receive around 2,000 tickets, but that figure changed after alterations to the match schedule. In total, the Piraeus club secured 900 tickets for the tie.

Of that total, 700 tickets are reserved for the visiting supporters' terrace, while the remaining 200 are for first-class category seating. Olympiacos FC published the guidance following official instructions from the French police ahead of the fixture.

Ticket collection and police escort

Supporters who bought 22-euro tickets and received a voucher must exchange it for a match ticket in France on November 4. The exchange will take place at Bar La Piste on Mail Francois Mitterrand between 13:00 and 15:30 local time.

From 15:00 local time, visiting fans can set off from the meeting point towards the stadium under French police escort. The walking route takes approximately 25 minutes.

Fans holding 75-euro tickets may travel directly to the ground independently. However, Olympiacos instructed those supporters not to wear or display team colours or club insignia for their personal safety.

Stadium regulations and security

Strict security rules will be in place at the venue. Flares and pyrotechnics are banned, and Olympiacos warned fans that bringing or using them will lead to arrest by French authorities.

Supporters must also prepare for electronic payments inside the ground, as transactions can only be made by card. In addition, venue security will only permit spectators to enter with bags up to A4 size.

Based in the port city of Piraeus, Olympiacos is Greece's most successful football club and a regular competitor in continental football. The UEFA Europa League is Europe's secondary club tournament, featuring group matches across the continent before two-legged knockout ties in the spring.

The fixture in France is the fourth matchday of the Europa League group stage, with Olympiacos aiming to strengthen their position in the competition.
