Olympiacos FC has announced ticketing details and strict security procedures for supporters traveling to France for the UEFA Europa League fixture against Marseille at Stade Vélodrome on October 15.
The Greek club stated that tickets for the Matchday 2 League Phase clash, scheduled for a 21:00 kickoff, will be sold exclusively online through the official Olympiacos website from Wednesday, September 30 at 16:00 until Friday, October 2 at 13:00, or until sold out.
Initial purchasing rights are reserved strictly for original season ticket holders, who may buy a single ticket provided they travel to Marseille themselves. Olympiacos warned that any transferred season tickets used to buy away tickets for another fan will be cancelled without prior warning. To complete a purchase, fans must supply the unique identification number generated in the Greek government digital wallet app, Gov.gr, during their original season ticket transaction.
Buyers are required to provide their full name in Latin characters, date of birth, country of residence, and dates of arrival and departure in Marseille. Purchasers will initially receive a confirmation receipt rather than an entry pass, with final PDF tickets delivered later to the email address registered during purchase.
Police meeting point and stadium transit
French authorities and Olympiacos have established mandatory travel protocols for visiting supporters. Ticket holders must gather at Place de la Joliette between 14:00 and 17:00, where security staff will inspect and validate tickets. Olympiacos emphasized that ticket checking and validation will not take place at Stade Vélodrome, making punctual attendance at the meeting point compulsory.
Supporters will transfer from Place de la Joliette to Stade Vélodrome in organized train convoys managed under a transit plan prepared by French police. Individual transit to the stadium is strictly prohibited, and supporters who miss the assembly window will be denied entry to the match.
Stade Vélodrome, located in southern Marseille, is France's second-largest football stadium with a capacity exceeding 67,000 spectators. Marseille, one of the most prominent clubs in French football, plays its home fixtures at the venue in Ligue 1. Olympiacos, based in Piraeus, represents Greek football in the expanded 36-team UEFA Europa League phase. Place de la Joliette sits near the city's historic port district, serving as a primary transit hub in Marseille.
Ticket pricing and secondary sales window
Ticket prices for the visiting sector are set at 15 euros, while tickets designated for VIP and VVIP season ticket holders are priced at 49 euros. Olympiacos stated that ticket modifications or cancellations are not permitted under any circumstances.
Supporters holding 49-euro tickets are exempt from assembling at the Place de la Joliette meeting point. However, Olympiacos urged these fans to remain cautious and refrain from wearing club colors or team insignia, noting that Marseille management advised extra vigilance due to security concerns surrounding host team supporters.
If any tickets remain unsold after the initial period, sales for general supporters who do not own season tickets will commence on Friday, October 2 at 16:00. Non-season ticket holders must submit their name in Latin script, birth date, residence details, travel dates, and a valid Olympiacos CFP supporter card. The Greek government introduced digital wallet verification through Gov.gr to streamline fan identification and curb spectator violence across domestic and international sporting events.
