The election of the new president of the Russian Water Polo Federation (FVPR) will take place on December 24, the organization’s press service told .
The conference, which will be held in the building of the Russian Olympic Committee, will consider issues of early termination of the powers of the president of the federation. Also on the agenda is the question of the election of a new president of the organization.
“The members of the presidium unanimously recommended Yevgeny Konstantinovitch Sharonov for the post of president of the federation,” the press service said.
Sharonov is the first vice-president and executive director of the federation.
The president is Alexey Vlasenko. He was arrested in March 2021 as part of a criminal investigation for large-scale fraud.
