russian swimmer Evgenia Chikunova showed the best result of the season in the world over a distance of 200 meters breaststroke at the Friendship Games.
Chikunova won the final run with a score of 2 minutes 14.70 seconds. Second was Vitalina Simonova (2:19.19), Nika Godun completed the top three (2:19.94).
The world record for this short course distance belongs to American Rebecca Sony (2:14.57).
Chikunova’s winning time in this Russian championship is also a European record. The first was Denmark’s Ricky Molle Pedersen – 2:15.21.
