Poland announces boycott of men’s and women’s world boxing championships

Another country refused to speak

Polish Boxing Association announced boycott male and female boxing world championships.

The reasons for the boycott are the admission of Russians and Belarusians to competitions, as well as the activities of the leadership of the International Boxing Association (IBA) under the leadership of Russian Umar Kremlev.

Note that this is not the first team that refused to compete. Earlier, the Czech Republic, Canada and Sweden announced a boycott of the World Cup.

In turn, the British team announced that it would boycott the women’s world championship, and the US boxing team refused to participate in the women’s and men’s world championships.

The 2023 Women’s Boxing World Championship will be held in Delhi (India) from March 15 to 25, and the 2023 Men’s Boxing World Championship will be held from May 1 to 14 in Tashkent (Uzbekistan).

Recall that the International Olympic Committee has decided to remove the IBA from holding a boxing tournament at the 2024 Olympics. Note that Ukrainian boxers will be able to participate in the tournament.
