Deontay’s team plans to fight Joshua

Malik Scottformer world heavyweight champion coach Deontay Wildermakes plans for the fight of his ward with Anthony Joshua.

“He will be more than ready to fight in January. The last time I spoke with Deontay, we were planning something for October. Hopefully we can find an opponent and after that we will go out and knock Joshua out in January.”

“Andy Ruiz doesn’t want to fight Deontay, so we’re looking for someone else, someone who really wants to fight and take risks. And, unfortunately, someone who will be knocked out.”

Earlier it was reported that representatives of Saudi Arabia arrived in London to finalize the deal for the fight of Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder for January 2024. Promoter Eddie Hearn said all parties are committed to a deal for the fight.

Recall that on August 12 in London at the O2 arena, the ex-world champion Anthony Joshua knocked out Finnish heavyweight Robert Helenius in the seventh round.
