Synchronized swimmer Maltsev expects non-Olympic disciplines to be included in the Friendship Games program

Quadruple world champion in synchronized swimming Alexander Maltsev told that he expects non-Olympic disciplines to be included in the Friendship Games program.

On Thursday, an expanded meeting of the ROC Athletes’ Commission with representatives of state sports federations will be held in Moscow.

— The situation is difficult, we cannot participate in international competitions. I would like some kind of compensatory competition where we could realize our abilities. Including mixed doubles, which we play in. I want to be shown so that our sport continues to grow.

I would like the Friendship Games program not only to include Olympic disciplines, because our mixed doubles is not included. I would like them to support us so that we can realize our potential,” Maltsev told .

The first-ever “Friendship Games” will take place from September 15 to 29, 2024 in Moscow and Yekaterinburg.
