The Dutch woman won gold at the 2024 World Cup in Glasgow
Dutch athlete Femke Bol installed a new one world record in the indoor 400m race. The runner clocked 49.17 seconds at the 2024 World Championships in Glasgow, winning the championship title.
Bol updated her own achievement, which was 49.24 seconds. The previous record lasted only a few weeks – Femke set it at the national championships in Apeldoorn on February 18.
For Bol, this success became her first gold at the World Indoor Championships. The Dutchwoman previously won two silvers in 2022. Femke also has two gold medals at the 2023 Outdoor World Championships (400 m and 4×400 m relay).
In 2023, Bol was recognized as the best athlete of the year according to European Athletics. The Dutchwoman beat out the Ukrainian Yaroslava Maguchikh in this category.
