Igor Surkis: There was an offer from Besiktas regarding Shaparenko, but he told me that he doesn’t want to go to Turkey

According to the president of Dynamo, Nikolai must progress if he wants to get into the top championship

President Dynamo Igor Surkis said that a Turkish man had approached him Besiktas with a proposal to transfer the midfielder Nikolay Shaparenko.

“As the club president, I joked that Shaparenko is worth 300 million because someone from Shakhtar Donetsk said that Sudakov is worth 150 million. But neither of them is worth that kind of money. All smart people understand that I was joking, and armchair journalists wrote that one is worth 300 million and the other one is worth 150 million. But I joked, perhaps inappropriately.”

“Yes, everyone has a certain price. As for Shaparenko, I can say that there was an offer from Besiktas. The president of Besiktas called me and asked if I was ready to sell Shaparenko. First of all, I asked Shaparenko and he told me that he did not want to go to Turkey. That’s it, there were no more offers for Shaparenko. If Shaparenko sees himself in one of the TOP-5 championships, then he should progress and figure it out.”

25-year-old Shaparenko is a product of Mariupol football, who moved to Dynamo at the age of 16 and has spent his entire career with the capital club. Nikolai made his debut for the first team of the Kyivans at the age of 19 and quickly made it into the main team. At the moment, he has 178 matches for the white-blues, in which he has scored 25 goals and made 27 assists.

As part of the Ukrainian national team, Shaparenko played 36 matches, scored twice, assisted his teammates three times – in particular, Vladislav Vanat in yesterday’s match against Albania in the League of Nations (2:3). In addition, Nikolai has a goal + assist in the winning match against Slovakia at Euro 2024. He also scored against France in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

This season, the midfielder played 8 matches for Dynamo in all tournaments, scoring two goals and making three assists.
