Former defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos has welcomed new Greek signings Konstantinos Karetsas and Giannis Konstantelias to Borussia Dortmund following their official moves to the Bundesliga club.
The Westphalian club has seen a growing Greek presence in recent weeks, with both young stars officially completing their transfers to Germany. Sokratis stated that he felt proud of the Greek colony being created at the German side.

Instagram message for new arrivals
Writing on his personal Instagram profile, Sokratis sent a direct message to the two new additions as they prepare to display their talent in German football.
He welcomed Konstantinos Karetsas and Giannis Konstantelias to what he described as the best football family. He added that Greek power had returned to Borussia Dortmund and wished both players the very best for their time at the club.
Potential debut in German Super Cup
Both Karetsas and Konstantelias could make their competitive debuts for Borussia Dortmund in the German Super Cup against Bayern Munich, throwing the pair straight into high-stakes action early in the season.
The Super Cup match against Dortmund's primary domestic rivals represents an immediate test for the incoming Greek duo as they adapt to the demands of top-tier German competition.
Sokratis Papastathopoulos career at Dortmund
Sokratis spent five years at Borussia Dortmund between 2013 and 2018 after establishing himself as a reliable international centre-back. During his spell in Westphalia, he made 198 appearances and scored 10 goals across all competitions.
The defender won one DFB-Pokal German Cup and two German Super Cups during his five-season tenure with Borussia Dortmund before departing the club to sign for Premier League side Arsenal.
Borussia Dortmund, based in North Rhine-Westphalia, play in Germany's top division, the Bundesliga. The club regularly competes for domestic honors and features in European competition at the Signal Iduna Park.
