Union Saint-Gilloise and Bodø/Glimt drew 3-3 in Belgium on Tuesday in a wild first leg of their Champions League playoff round tie, with the Norwegian side snatching a stoppage-time equalizer to leave the outcome open.

Neither side managed a winner in the six-goal thriller, meaning the tie will be decided in the second leg in Norway. The winner will face Olympiacos or NEC Nijmegen in the playoff round.

A fast start in Belgium

Bodø/Glimt came out strong and took the lead in the 21st minute through Berg. Union Saint-Gilloise responded immediately, with Florucks equalizing in the 25th minute.

Bodø/Glimt continued to dominate play and went back in front in the 29th minute when Blomberg made it 2-1. The Belgian side hit back again in the final action of the first half, with Florucks scoring his second of the night to level the score at 2-2.

Late goals decide nothing

The pace of the match slowed in the second half, with both teams only raising the intensity again in the final ten minutes.

Promise David put Union Saint-Gilloise ahead in the 88th minute, making it 3-2. But Bodø/Glimt struck back in stoppage time, with Bjørtuft scoring in the first minute of added time to make it 3-3 and complete the comeback.

Tie heads to Norway

With the sides level after the first leg, qualification for the playoff round will be settled in the return fixture in Norway. The winner of the tie will advance to face either Olympiacos or NEC Nijmegen, who drew 0-0 in their own first-leg playoff round match.
