The direct participation of Russian Skating Union athletes in the hearings of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) is not planned, sources familiar with the matter told .
Hearings are scheduled for May 2.
The lawsuit was filed jointly with the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) in connection with the Russians’ withdrawal from competitions under the auspices of the International Skating Union (ISU). On behalf of the Russian side, in addition to the federations, the decision of the ISU is contested in particular by the Olympic champion in short track Semyon Elistratov, the medalist of the Beijing Olympics in speed skating Angelina Golikova.
As it became known from , representatives of the leadership of the Russian Skating Union are also not scheduled for the hearings.
In March 2022, the ISU suspended Russian athletes from participating in international competitions under the auspices of the organization due to the situation in Ukraine.
